Indigenous Initiatives consultations and collaborations

By Emi Sasagawa on December 1, 2016

Indigenous symbols

We support and engage in consultations with departments, units, and groups, as well as individual instructors, graduate students, and TAs to develop skills, resources, and capacity around Indigenous engagement in teaching and learning. In addition to syllabus and course consultations with instructors, we have worked with specific groups on customized faculty development sessions. We offer specific TA training on topics such as discussing Aboriginal and other socially contentious issues in the classroom, classroom climate, and diversity and inclusion. We have also developed and facilitated professional development workshops to introduce staff to further learning about Indigenous engagement at UBC.
